Bermuda Motor Car drive Prince Harry and Prime Minister Cameron in NYC on a London bus

On Tuesday, May 14th, 2013, Bermuda Motor Car had the exclusive privilege of driving Prince Harry and Prime Minister Cameron from the West side Heliport to Milk Studios in NYC. Prince Harry and David Cameron showcased British innovation and technology in New York City as they arrived on a London bus. This new version of the capital’s red Double Decker carried the two men to Manhattans trendy Meat Packing district for an event highlighting creative UK firms in the US.

The event is part of the Great campaign, a Government initiative which promotes the UK as a place to visit, study, and do business in. This seems to come right after the success of the London Olympic Games of 2012.

Carole King – 2013 Library of Congress Gershwin Prize/The White House

On May 20th 2013 – Carole King will receive Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. Famous for songs like You’ve Got a Friend, So Far Away, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman and I Feel the Earth Move, her career took off in 1971 with her hit album, Tapestry. It was the first female solo album to sell more than 10 million copies. In 1972, she won four Grammy awards including the top honor, best album.

The Gershwin Prize recognizes the lifetime achievement of notable music artists. King will join previous honorees Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney as well songwriting duo Burt Bacharach and Hal David. The program will be taped by WETA/PBS in Washington D.C. as part of the “In Performance at the White House” series that will air later this year.

The Executive producers of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song are Bob and Peter Kaminsky, Mark Krantz, Cappy McGarr and Dalto Delan; The Kaminskys, Krantz and McGarr are also the creators and executive producers of the Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, now going into its 16th year. The New York City Association of Hotel Concierges takes part in

Mayor Bloomberg’s MillionTreesNYC Spring 2013 Planting Day

New York, NY (April 27, 2013)-On Saturday, April 27th, the New York City Association of Hotel Concierges (NYCAHC) along with its corporate affiliate members and business associates celebrated Mayor Bloomberg’s MillionTreesNYC. This partnership with Mayor Bloomberg and the NYC Parks and New York Restoration Project (NYRP) took place in Alley Pond Park in Queens.

This year NYCAHC participated in the Spring 2013 Planting Day. After some on-site training, our volunteers truly dug deep by planting 2,000 native shrubs and sown with a mix of native herbaceous plants in Alley Pond Park for over three hours. In addition, NYCAHC donated $2,500 in support of NYC Parks and Recreation.

1962 Rolls Royce “Silver Cloud”

The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II was introduced in October 1959, and was the first Rolls-Royce model to exceed Bentley in production numbers, with 2,716 built between 1959 and 1962; 299 of these rode the long wheelbase chassis. The car was also the first to utilize Rolls-Royce’s aluminum, 6.2-liter, 230-hp V-8 engine which had been in the planning stages since 1947. The introduction was so significant that the engine itself was displayed with the new Rolls-Royces at the London Motor Show.
